LEGO Design Collection

My youngest son is a huge fan of the little Danish brick, better know as LEGO.

And I must admit, that I also sometimes can get lost in building something myself...

But now I don't have to be shy about it anymore. LEGO developed, in corporation with the Danish ROOMcopenhagen, a 'design collection'. Suitable for the 'adult' living room ;-)

Embryonic

Here is a little preview...

We are not even half way 2014, but Lidewij Edelkoort already gives us a glimpse of the upcoming trend for the autumn and winter  of 2015/16.

Embryonic is what it will be. Cocooning in it best form. Soft materials, natural colors, organic shapes and making it yourself comfortable like you are going back into the womb.

Feel the movement when rocking on a swing. Enjoy the comfort when sitting underneath a canvas. Feel adored when your skin touches soft materials like wool.

Arne Jacobsen

Even before we moved to Copenhagen we named our son Arne.

After his grandfather, but also a bit after the great Danish designer Arne Jacobsen.

I admire the greatness in simplicity. The objects are designed to do the work and nothing more. And that makes them the best designed objects ever.

 When we were living in Denmark we often went to the beach. And when we were laying in the sun, we watched the great lifeguard tower. Just some beams and a cylinder. Nothing more nothing less. But so build for the job; Looking out.

That's why I end this collage white the AJ table lamp. I also take a curtsey for this big master.

Purple Pleasure

One of the colors that I always think is interesting is purple. 

It gives me a sense of mystery. But also of calm and tranquility. Mixed with fresh green it stands for energy and a new beginning. Young vegetables, a new morning or a journey that is yet to come...
